  • • Speech and language therapy are designed to promote effective communication through the use of individualized, evidence-based strategies.

    • Common diagnoses benefitting from speech and language therapy include Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), expressive/receptive language delays and disorders, articulation/phonological disorders, cognitive communication disorders, and fluency disorders (stuttering/cluttering).

    A thorough evaluation is conducted before beginning treatment to ensure appropriate, individualized care!

  • • Voice therapy is designed to improve voice quality, teach healthy vocal behaviors, promote healing after surgery, and/or increase patients’ comfort and stamina during voice use. You can think of this like physical therapy for the voice!

    • Voice therapy typically requires an exam by/referral from a qualified ENT/laryngologist in order to properly diagnose the origins of the problem. Abby can discuss this with you and make appropriate referrals to a physician as needed.

    • Common diagnoses benefitting from voice therapy include vocal fold nodules/polyps, vocal fold cysts, aging voice/vocal fold atrophy, vocal fold paralysis/paresis, muscle tension dysphonia, and chronic cough.

  • • If you are a transgender or nonbinary person experiencing vocal dysphoria, voice therapy can help. The course of treatment will be personalized based on your unique goals, and can include targeting not only pitch, but resonance, intonation, and non-verbal communication as well.

    • We provide tools that allow you to use your voice in a healthy, sustainable way and help you feel and sound like you.

  • •Cognitive rehabilitation is appropriate for patients after a stroke or brain injury. This can sometimes take place immediately upon release from a hospital or after leaving an in-patient rehab facility.

    • Therapy focuses on regaining lost skill as well as finding strategies to compensate for any cognitive losses.

  • • Feeding and swallowing therapy for children can address both behavioral and functional impairments, including difficulties due to sensory challenges and/or oral motor challenges.

    • Therapy sessions are tailored to each child’s needs, but can include both real-time feeding practice and the teaching of exercises to improve function. Frequency and duration of therapy depend on the diagnosis and individual need.

  • • Does your lifestyle or job demand a lot from your voice? Learn exercises and techniques to maximize function, minimize effort, and keep your healthy voice in tip-top shape.

    • Heavy voice users such as teachers, athletic coaches, lawyers, podcasters, actors, singers, public speakers, and more can benefit!

  • • LSVT is an effective speech treatment for people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) and other neurological conditions (LSVT Global, 2023). It is designed to help people with PD increase their volume, while also recalibrating their perception to feel comfortable speaking at this increased volume.

    • Sessions take place four times a week for four consecutive weeks.
